John Daly breaks right hand
John Daly withdrew from the Bard Capital Challenge on Wednesday, saying he broke his right hand playing in an exhibition last weekend.
It was not clear how Daly injured his hand or how long he would be out. Tournament officials said the injury happened at the Duff Challenge at Casablanca Resort in Mesquite, Nev.
Daly's agent, Bud Martin, did not immediately return a phone call.
"Unfortunately, due to an injury, I am forced to withdraw from this year's inaugural Bard Capital Challenge," Daly said in a statement.
His replacement for Sunday's final round has not been determined.
The event features an amateur competition the first three days, with eight two-man teams advancing to the final round when they are paired with a PGA Tour player. Proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.
Tim Herron also withdrew because his wife is expecting twins. He was replaced by Bo Van Pelt. Others in the field are Skins winner Fred Funk, Mark Calcavecchia, Nick Price, Rory Sabbatini, Zach Johnson and Scott Verplank.
