Richard Finch signs deal with Nike

Nike Golf today announced that 27 year-old tour rookie, Richard Finch, has joined its Tour Staff for the forthcoming season. Finch has agreed to a multi-year relationship with Nike Golf that incorporates a head-to-toe deal made up of equipment, bag, ball, glove cap, footwear and apparel.

Following an outstanding amateur career, which included victories in the English, Spanish and St. Andrew’s Links Championships, Finch, an ex-member of the EGU’s Elite Squad, turned professional at the end of 2003. He went on to have an outstanding start as a professional, with a string of top ten finishes on the Challenge Tour. He went on to secure himself a spot on the European Tour for 2005 after finishing 10th at the gruelling qualifying school at San Roque.

“I’m happy as can be with everything and I can’t wait to get cracking,” said Finch after the announcement. “Nike has been a big part of my success both as an amateur and a professional and knowing that I have the best equipment in my bag is a great head start.”

Finch plays the Nike Ignite 410cc driver, Nike Pro-combo irons 3-PW, Ignite T60 15 degree fairway wood, Nike Forged wedges 53 and 58 degree and the Nike One Black ball. He will also step out in Nike Golf’s SP6 footwear and wear the Nike Dri-FIT Tour glove and a selection from the new Tour Contemporary range.

Nike’s European sports marketing manager David Theobald commented: “We’re delighted that Richard will be joining our ever-expanding Tour Staff. We are all very excited about working towards making his transition onto the European Tour as seamless as possible. He has incredible potential and I believe that with the correct guidance and the right equipment, he could go on to challenge for major honours at a global level.”
