Retief Goosen closing in on World No.4 spot
Retief Goosen won for the second consecutive week, this time on the European Tour, at the Linde German Masters at Gut Lärchenhof. Goosen remains World Number five but closes the gap to injured Ernie Els at World Number four to 0.10 average points.
Mark Calcavecchia won his first PGA Tour event since 2001 as he secured the Bell Canadian Open title at Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club, Vancouver. He moves up 66 places to World Number 67.
Adam Scott, the World Number Seven, won the Singapore Open on the Asian Tour by a comfortable margin of seven strokes from Lee Westwood.
Yasuharu Imano won the Suntory Open on the Japan Golf Tour, the win taking him to World Number 161.
This week’s other winners were Garrett Willis at the Envirocare Utah Classic on the Nationwide Tour and Morten Hagen at the Telia Challenge Waxholm on the European Challenge Tour.
