Jason Gore vaults into World Top 100
Jason Gore won his first PGA Tour event just six weeks after claiming a full Tour exemption as he picked the 84 Lumber Classic at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. His single stroke victory over Carlos Franco takes Gore to World Number 88, a leap of 230 places as Franco breaks back into the World Top 100 at 68th position.
Michael Campbell defeated Paul McGinley by 2&1 in the final of the HSBC World Match Play Championship over the West Course at Wentworth Club. Campbell moves up one spot to number 15 in the Official World Golf Ranking while McGinley breaks into the World Top 30 for the first time at number 29.
Keiichiro Fukabori won the ANA Open on the Japan Golf Tour, the win taking him to World Number 105.
This week’s other winners were Thaworn Wiratchant at the Taiwan Open on the Asian Tour, Troy Matteson at the Mark Christopher Charity Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Per G Nyman at the Rotterdam International Open on the European Challenge Tour and Michael Harris at the Niagara Fallsview Casino Pro-Am in the final event of the 2005 Canadian Tour.
