Pettersson & McGinley move up rankings

Carl Pettersson won the Chrysler Championship at the Westin Innisbrook Golf Resort, Tampa Bay, Florida with a final round of 71 beating Chad Campbell by a stroke. Pettersson improves his Official World Golf Ranking by 69 places and is now World Number 61.

Paul McGinley closed off the 2005 European Tour Season in style with victory at the Volvo Masters at Valderrama. Bogey free for the last 53 holes the Irishman held off the challenge of World Number 6 Sergio Garcia, who finished 2 strokes behind in second place. McGinley breaks into the World top 20 with an 8 place jump to World Number 18.

Shingo Katayama won for a second time out of his last three starts on the Japan Golf Tour as he took the ABC Championship by two strokes from Fiji’s Dinesh Chand. He consolidates his World Top 50 ranking with a 6 place rise to 44th.

Thaworn Wiratchant won the Hero Honda Indian Open on the Asian Tour and climbs 22 places to World Number 146.

David Branshaw won the season ending Nationwide Championship at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill to jump 116 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 433rd as well as securing his place on the 2006 PGA Tour.
