Colin Montgomerie still hopeful of making PGA
Colin Montgomerie is still hoping to take part in the U.S. PGA Championship starting on Thursday in Springfield, New Jersey.
The British Open runner-up retired after 13 holes of the first round of the Johnnie Walker Championship here on Thursday with bruised fingers after he slipped playing a shot.
Montgomerie's manager Guy Kinnings said on Sunday: "Colin's spent the last couple of days having treatment and he has hit a few balls.
"His fingers are still very sore but he is going to travel to America, continue taking treatment and see how things are. He's hoping to be ready to go on Thursday."
