Katrina forces PGA Tour event delay
The PGA Tour's Southern Farm Bureau Classic has been moved to the first weekend in November because of Hurricane Katrina.
Tournament executive director Robert Morgan said Wednesday that he asked the tour to postpone the $3 million event, originally scheduled for Oct. 6-9 at Annandale Golf Club, to give Mississippi time to recover from the deadly hurricane.
The tournament will be played Nov. 3-6, opposite the Tour Championship in Atlanta.
Morgan said all net proceeds from the tournament will be donated to Hurricane Katrina relief in Mississippi. Fred Funk won the event last year.
