Adam Scott moves up to World No. 7
Adam Scott won the first play-off hole against Chad Campbell in the rain shortened Nissan Open. Despite a 25% reduction in Official World Ranking Points awarded due to the event being decided over 36 holes, Scott climbs to his highest ever World Ranking position of 7th, a jump of 5 places.
Thailand’s Thongchai Jaidee successfully defended the Carlsberg Malaysian Open at Suajana Golf and Country Club. A closing two under par 70 gave him a 21 under par total of 267, three clear of India’s Jyoti Randhawa with Swede Henrik Stenson a further shot adrift. Jaidee has now climbed to number 58 in the world a jump of 32 places.
This week’s other winners were Steven Bowditch at the Jacob’s Creek Open, co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the Nationwide Tour, Warren Abery at the Telcom PGA Championship on the Sunshine Tour and Kevin Haefner at the Panama Masters, co-sanctioned by the European Challenge Tour and the Tour de las Americas.
