Ben Curtis vaults up rankings following win

Ben Curtis won the Booz Allen Classic at the TPC at Avenel by 5 strokes from Padraig Harrington, Billy Andrade, Nick O’Hern and Steve Stricker as the tournament ran over to Tuesday morning due to inclement weather. The Open Champion of 2003 climbs 101 places to World Number 104.

Paul Casey from England won the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles, a final round of 72 giving him victory by a stroke over Soren Hansen and Andrew Marshall. The win takes Casey to 34th in the Official World Golf Ranking, a rise of 5 positions.

On the Japan Golf Tour Korean Hur Suk-ho won the Mizuno Open at Setonaikai Golf Club and climbs 44 positions to World Number 114.

This week’s other winners were Kyle Reifers at the Chattanooga Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Francisco Cea at the Credit Suisse Challenge on the European Challenge Tour and Mike Grob at the Times Colonist Open on the Canadian Tour.
