PGA EuroPro Tour to tee-off at Bovey Castle
Peter de Savary's Bovey Castle will host the bright young stars of the golfing world when the PGA EuroPro Tour arrives at the luxury club and sporting estate in August.
Since its major renovation two years ago, the Castle's Old Course has grown in stature and reputation for its beautiful setting on Dartmoor National Park and its challenging championship par 70.
The EuroPro Tour will arrive to give the 'Tiger Woods of tomorrow' the opportunity to gain the necessary experience of the pressures of competitive golf and the European Tour circuit.
The EuroPro Tour has grown in size over the past four years and in 2005 offered a prize fund of over £1 million.
The event will be broadcast around the world on Sky Sports, as well as Golf Channel in the USA, Viasat in Scandinavia, ESPN Latin America and ESPN Star throughout Asia.
Bovey Castle Head Professional Richard Lewis said: "This is another feather in the cap for the Old Course - which is now widely recognised for offering one of the most enjoyable yet challenging rounds of golf in the UK."
Dan Nickless, PGA EuroPro Tour Operations Manager added: "We are very excited that a PGA EuroPro Tournament will be held at Bovey Castle. This is one of the most stunning courses the tour has ever visited and I'm sure it will provide a memorable experience for all competing players."
The tournament takes place at Bovey Castle from 7 August to 10 August. The event will start with a pro-am with team entries starting at £470 plus VAT. A Sportsman's Dinner will then follow in the evening, hosted by snooker legend and TV pundit Steve Davis on 7 August. Prices for the four-course dinner costs £60 per person plus VAT.
Accommodation for the event is available in the Castle with prices starting from £250 for a double room including full English breakfast.
