Johan Edfors breaks into World Top 50

Johan Edfors from Sweden won the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond with a stunning final round of 63 for a 2 stroke victory over Luke Donald, Andres Romero and Charl Schwartzel. Edfors, a graduate from the 2005 European Tour Qualifying School, climbs 42 places to World Number 46 with his third win of the season.

John Senden from Australia won the John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run on the PGA Tour, securing the title with a deft bunker shot to within inches of the hole on the 18th for a final round of 68 and a one stroke victory. Senden moves up to World Number 78 a rise of 36 positions.

This week’s other winners were Brandt Snedeker at the Scholarship America Showdown at Somerby on the Nationwide Tour, Carlos del Moral at the Texbond Open on the European Challenge Tour and Josh Habig at the MTS Classic on the Canadian Tour.

Tiger Woods has now held the World Number One position for a total of 400 weeks as he heads for the season’s third Major Championship, the 135th Open Championship at Royal Liverpool.
