Weekend winners vault up world rankings

Brett Wetterich won the EDS Byron Nelson Championship at TPC Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas on the PGA Tour by a stroke from Trevor Immelman. Wetterich climbs 132 places in the Official World Golf Ranking to 76th. Immelman’s second consecutive second place finish moves him up to World Number 34.

Johan Edfors won the Quinn Direct British Masters at the De Vere Belfry on the European Tour. With his second win of the year Edfors jumps 114 places to World Number 80.

Tomohiro Kondo defeated Katsuyoshi Tomori in a play-off for the PGA Championship at Tanigumi Country Club on the Japan Golf Tour. Kondo improves his World Ranking by 87 places and now sits with the Top 200 in 185th position.

This week’s other winners were Darron Stiles at the Rheem Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Hendrik Buhrmann at the Aamby Valley Asian Masters in India on the Asian Tour, Alvaro Salto at the Parco di Monza Challenge on the European Challenge Tour and Rob Oppenheim at the Corona Mazatlan Classic on the Canadian Tour.
