Henrik Stenson has been named on the European team to take on Asia in next year's Royal Trophy in Bangkok, organisers said on Tuesday.
The Swede, who holed the winning put in Europe's Ryder Cup victory over the United States last month, is the first player to be named on captain Seve Ballesteros' team for the Jan 12-14 contest.
The Swede helped steer Europe to a 9-7 victory in the inaugural edition of the match play team event earlier this year.
The Asian captain is expected to be named this month and Japan's Masahiro Kuramoto is being tipped to skipper the team for a second time.
