PGA Tour wins Wendys Challenge

Ryder Cup teammates Scott Verplank, Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson won the $500,000 first prize for the PGA Tour at the Wendy's 3-Tour Challenge on Tuesday.

The PGA threesome finished at 14-under-par 202 for the nine-hole segments at Reflection Bay Golf Club in Lake Las Vegas Resort. The Champions Tour trio of Craig Stadler, Jay Haas and Tom Kite finished second at 207, followed by the LPGA Tour threesome of Juli Inkster, Natalie Gulbis and Cristie Kerr at 209.

Stadler had the best round of the day, shooting a 9-under-par 63 capped by an eagle on No. 18, when he holed a shot from 118 yards away.

Inkster came in second at 65, followed by Verplank and Johnson at 67 and Cink at 68.

The competition will be televised Dec. 23-24 by ABC.
