Australia
and South Africa aim to reduce conflicting events
Sydney,
Australia - Australasian PGA officials said on Tuesday
they are willing to talk with South African golf authorities about
reducing schedule conflicts so that players could compete in events
on both tours.
Ernie Els
and Nick Price are among the touring players who have urged
an agreement.
PGA
Tour of Australasia chairman Jack Newton said joint venture tournaments
might be the answer.
A
joint venture deal could involve the South African Open and South
African PGA Championship, tournaments which were run against the
recent Greg Norman event and last week's Australian Masters.
