Spanish team
pulls out of Chile team event
Madrid - Spain have withdrawn from the Women's World
Amateur Team Golf Championship in Chile this week.
The Spanish
Golf Federation (RFEG) cited "political and diplomatic reasons"
for the decision.
A Spanish judge
has asked Britain to extradite former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet
to stand trial for genocide.
An RFEG spokesman
said on Wednesday: "The situation at the moment isn't stable,
above all for Spaniards...we wanted to prevent any negative response
on the part of the Chileans."
