LGU raises
handicap limit
The new handicapping
system in women's golf has prompted the Ladies' Golf Union to increase
the handicap limit for their championships this year.
"The changes
will not affect the quality of the fields but will merely allow
the championships to be well supported and continue to prosper,"
said LGU secretary Julie Hall.
The limit for
the British women's amateur championship at Little Aston from June
9-13 and British strokeplay championship at Stirling from August
19-21 rises from four to five.
The girls championship
at Holyhead from 4th -8th August goes up from eight to 10 and the
seniors championship at Powfoot from 29th September - 1st October
from 10 to 12.
