Norman to buy courses in Asia

Australian golf superstar Greg Norman is to head an international joint venture to buy up superior Asian golf courses badly hit by the region's economic crisis.

The business, called Medallist Troon, teams Norman's Great White Shark enterprises, Macquarie Bank and US golf management company Troon Golf.

It will also target the Middle East and offer financial and consulting services to Asian banks and developers.

"Medallist Troon is in a unique position to take advantage of the fragmented nature of golf course management and ownership business in the region," said Norman.
