Open ticket
prices to remain unchanged for Carnoustie
St. Andrews, Scotland - Tickets
for the 1999 Open Championship at Carnoustie have been frozen to
1998 levels, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club announced.
The Open will
return to Carnoustie for the sixth time on 15th - 18th July 1999.
The Open was last played there in 1975, when Tom Watson joined
previous winners Tommy Armour, Henry Cotton, Ben Hogan and Gary Player.
"We had
a modest increase in prices this year at Royal Birkdale and in line
with our policy of continuing to offer the public value for money,
we have not applied any increase for 1999," said R&A Championship
secretary David Hill.
Once again
children under 16 will be allowed in free and those 16 to 21 can
gain entry for £10 on championship days and £6 or less on practice
days, Hill added.
For further
information and ticket applications, write to the R&A at The Ticket Office, Royal and Ancient
Golf Club, St. Andrews, Fife, KY16 9JD.
