Loren Roberts withdraws from Masters

Augusta, Georgia - Loren Roberts withdrew from the US Masters Monday, citing an unspecified injury, tournament offcials said.

Roberts, 42, who has five tour victories, injured his ribs when he sneezed several weeks ago and had not fully recovered, a tour source said.

The 18-year veteran, who tied for fifth in the 1994 Masters, played poorly last year, shooting 85-77 and missing the cut by 12 strokes.

He will not be replaced in the Masters field, which now numbers 88 for Thursday's start.
