Record entry
for British Women's Amateur Championship
Little
Aston, Birmingham - The target of a place in the Britain
and Ireland team to defend the Curtis Cup in America in August has
attracted a record entry of 175 for the British Women's Amateur
Championship at Little Aston on9th 13th June.
Defending champion
Alison Rose will try to become the first player since Mickey Walker
- now the Curtis Cup coach - in 1972 to retain the title, while
Ireland's Lilian Behan is out to repeat her 1985 victory.
Wales' American
college player Becky Morgan lost the 1996 final and was beaten by
Rose in last year's semi-finals.
