Fourteen year old British
star signs management deal
Fourteen-year-old Eren Bechet,
one of the country's most promising young golfers, has signed an agreement to
be represented by the management company chaired by former Olympic swimming champion
Duncan Goodhew.
Bechet started playing when
he was nine and had a round of 68 at his home club Dulwich and Sydenham only
three years later.
He has already represented
Kent at under-21 level - and won all his three games.
Goodhew, chairman of the
LEA Ludorum stable which also includes Welshman Phil Price, who jointly led the
Benson and Hedges International Open, said: "It is very important that we
bring young players on from an early age.
"I know just what a
difference a company such as ours can make to guys like Eren."
The agreement comes with
the support of the English Golf Union. Bechet will have a sponsor who is allowed
under the amateur status rules to assist with his expenses and club and clothing
companies are involved as well.
