Billy Casper's
son arrested on theft & drugs charges
The son of two-time
U.S. Open winner Billy Casper was indicted on charges he robbed a downbown
bar and possessed an short-barrel shotgun and numerous drugs.
David James Casper,
26, who also is suspected in a string of up to 30 San Diego robberies,
is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday, Dec. 15. He remains in the Clark
County Detention Center on $250,000 bail.
Casper was arrested
Nov. 11 by Las Vegas police officers who were pursuing the robbers of a
bar and indicted Tuesday.
The targeting of
Casper came after San Diego police alerted Las Vegas police he might be
in Las Vegas and is wanted in California on parole violation and robbery
charges.
Casper was arrested
by shotgun-wielding officers, but not before police said he reached for
a concealed handgun and might have been intending to use it. Police said
the shotgun, another handgun and drugs were found in his room.
Two others -- Francisco
Beruman, 36, and Lisa Llames, 26, both of Chula Vista, Calif. -- were arrested
for possession of stolen property as they walked down the stairs from a
second-story room.
