West Australian Nick
O'Hern has broken through for his first four-round victory, winning the
$300,000 Coolum Classic on the Sunshine Coast, north of Brisbane, today.
O'Hern, runner-up
in the Australian Open and third in last weekend's Australian PGA Championship,
shot a flawless closing round of 69 to beat another West Australian, Wayne
Smith by two shots.
Pre-tournament favourite
Craig Parry endured his second successive stumble, finishing in a five-way
tie for third after having the outright lead with six holes to play.
O'Hern's victory will
be well received as he's been the most consistent player on tour this season.
