Laura Davies finds herself
on Hall of Fame doorstep
Annika Sorenstam isn't
the only woman who suddenly is thinking about the LPGA Hall of Fame.
Under the proposed points
system that likely will be approved early next month, Laura Davies will have
22 points and find herself well within range of the 27 points required for entry
to the Hall of Fame.
"That seems weird to be
thinking I could be in the Hall of Fame at the end of the year," she said. "It's
something I had never thought about."
Davies has some reservations
about the change, even though she would have needed 13 more victories to get
in under the previous system.
"Personally, I'd rather
they kept it tough like it was before," Davies said. "If you get 30 wins, that's
pretty exceptional stuff. It's still difficult, but they're making a bit easier.
If I were to get in, I would like to have done it the hard way."
