Laura Davies, arguably the
best woman golfer of all time, has been made a CBE in the New Year's Honours
list.
By the age of 23 the Surrey star had won the US Open and she has so far won 58
tournaments around the world.
In a purple patch between 1993 and 1996 the woman who has never had a golf lesson
lifted an extraordinary 24 titles, including two Major championships in a phenomenal
1996.
