Ping puts Langer's contract on ice

  LONDON, Jan 25 -- Bernhard Langer's five-year contract to use Ping golf equipment has been put "on hold" after the American firm said he was not using enough of their clubs.

"Currently Bernard is not playing with the minimum number of golf clubs required of a Ping staff professional," company president John Solheim said of the world number 30.

"We are encouraged that Bernhard's earnest desire is to continue to play Ping golf clubs and have received valuable input from him. We hope to have Bernhard back soon."
