Lyle
being cold shouldered
?
Sandy Lyle feels he is being cold-shouldered by sponsors on the US Tour and pleaded
for a chance to prove that he can still be a force before taking his place in
the Honda Classic in Fort Lauderdale.
Lyle's 10-year exemption
after winning the 1988 Masters has run out. But he expected a good finish in
the recent Tucson Open to bring further invitations.
But it didn't, with two
of the four wild cards going to Gary Nicklaus and Robert Floyd. Lyle said: "It
seems the sons of great players are rated higher than an Open and Masters winner."
