European Tour - MacGregor Week

The 11th European Tour Annual Training School will be celebrating its eleventh edition this week when MacGregor Week will be held at San Roque Club on Spain's Costa del Sol on January 3-10.

On the 7th January 1999 the European Tour rookies attending MacGregor Week will be competing in a one day strokeplay championship, the MacGregor Challenge down the road at Valderrama, the venue of the third leg of the World Golf Championships, the American Express Championship, 4 - 7 November 1999

The 11th European Tour Annual Training School will again be sponsored by one of the most respected names in golf, MacGregor. The European Tour Training School, has been sponsored by Apollo Sports Technologies Ltd. since 1988.

The MacGregor Golf Academy has been designed to offer the serious golf pupils all the necessary assistance to develop a more consistent game. From state of the art facilities, through to the most experienced group of coaches ever assembled in Ireland, no stone has been left unturned to deliver first class service to the aspiring or experienced golfer. In 1998 the event produced its first graduate winner - Vijay Singh was a former pupil, winner of the 1998 PGA Championship.

MacGregor Week has a high quality coaching team made up of legends on the European Tour, leading golf coaches in all areas ofthe game, physiotherapists, a psychologist and a physiologist.

The 1999 team includes Tommy Horton, John Jacobs, Harold Swash, Denis Pugh, Guy Delacave, Helen Lennon and Alan Fine.
