David Park named golfer of the month

Welshman David Park has been named the Asprey & Garrard Golfer of the Month for June.

Park, 25, equalled Greg Norman's 22-year-old record of winning in only his second European Tour event - when he won the Compaq European Grand Prix at Slaley Hall last month.

The victory earned the Hereford-based golfer a place in The Open and his full card on the European Tour.

As Golfer of the Month, he has earned a £1,000 charity donation for The Golf Foundation.
