World rankings boost for minor tours

Players on the Asian Tour, Canadian Tour, BUY.COM Tour and European Challenge Tour will be able to earn official world-ranking points in 2000.

The proposal was accepted at a meeting of the governing board for the Official World Golf Ranking at St Andrews.

Among other things, the OWGR determines certain exemptions from qualifying for major championships and the World Golf Championship events.
