African Players Championship
Henning takes lead
with 67
Nic Henning worked his way through
the field with a five-under par 67 to lead the South African Players Championship
on 10-under par after the second round at the Royal Cape Golf Club on Friday.
The 30-year-old scored eight birdies
in his round which also included three bogeys.
Henning comes from a long line
of golfing stock with uncles Harold and Allan Henning both former South
African Open champions.
First round leader Hennie Otto
finished one stroke back on Friday nine-under par 135 after a round of
70.
Ryder Cup player Darren Clarke
of Northern Ireland moved up the leaderboard with a round of 68 to be four
shots off the pace.
His European compatriot Jean van
de Velde of France scored a five-under par 67 which included a hole in
one on the par three fourth.

newly crowned Million Dollar winner Ernie Els
