Boost for British youth
golf
A
joint venture of the English Golf Union, the English Ladies Golf Association
and the Golf Foundation have jointly formed the English Golf Partnership to promote
youth golf in the UK.
The principle aim of the project is to bring more young players in to the game
and encourage golf clubs to welcome them.
Paul Baxter, secretary of the EGU said: "Golf in England is urgently needed a
properly resourced, structured development plan. Through the work of the partnership
we will be able to offer more youngsters a clear pathway from their first introduction
through to junior membership at a club."
The venture is being funded
to the tune of over three million pounds over the next four years
