2000 U.S. Open already a sellout

Tickets for the 2000 U.S. Open, June 12-18, at Pebble Beach Golf Links, Pebble Beach, Calif., sold out as soon as the application deadline expired on July 31, 1999.

Pebble Beach will accommodate 32,500 people each day Thursday-Sunday.

The USGA will forward written confirmations or rejections of all ticket applications starting Sept. 30, 1999. There will be no telephone confirmations provided.

This is the 14 consecutive year the U.S. Open has been a sellout, beginning with the 1987 Open at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif.

Pebble Beach Golf Links will also be the host site for the 1999 U.S. Amateur Championship from Aug. 16-22. A limited number of tickets are still available for the U.S. Amateur.
