Frenchman Jean Van
de Velde, who threw away the Open
Championship earlier this year has been confirmed as appearing in November's
Australian Open at Royal Sydney.
Van de Velde has played
the Australian Open before but events at Carnoustie in July earned him
minor drawcard status this time, this time he earns an appearance fee,
though not nearly in the same bracket as leading attraction, world No 3,
Colin Montgomery.
Five-time champion
Greg Norman is playing along with Denmark's Thomas Bjorn while Padraig Harrington and Nick Faldo are other possibles.
