2008 European Tour schedule released
The Wales Open, played for the first time at the new Twenty Ten course which will host the 2010 Ryder Cup, is one of the highlights of the 2008 European Tour schedule released on Monday.
The ninth edition of the Wales Open at the Celtic Manor resort in Newport from May 29-June 1 features next season among a minimum of 50 order of merit tournaments, the tour said in a news release.
Two new countries are on the schedule, with the Indian Masters being played at the Delhi Golf Club from Feb. 7-10 and the Korean Championship going ahead five weeks later at Pinx Golf Club, Jeju Island.
India stages a second event when the Johnnie Walker Classic is held at the DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi from Feb. 28-March 2.
Holders Europe will attempt to retain the Ryder Cup at the Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky from Sept. 19-21.
Leading up to the biennial match against the United States, each tournament will hold the additional lure of qualification points as players attempt to win a place in captain Nick Faldo's team.
The final counting event will be the Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles in Scotland from Aug 28-31.
