Andres Romero breaks into world top 30

Andres Romero won the Deutsche Bank Players' Championship of Europe at Gut Kaden in Hamburg, Germany, with a final round of 70 for a three stroke victory over Soren Hansen and Oliver Wilson.

Romero, who had jumped to World Number 51 after his third place in the Open last week, now climbs to World Number 29 and to 13th in the standings for the International Team in the Presidents Cup.

Jim Furyk completed a successful defence of his Canadian Open title with a sensational final round of 64, including a hole-in-one, to deny overnight leader Vijay Singh by a single stroke. With this first victory of 2007 Furyk regains the World Number Two position.

This week's other winners were Roland Thatcher at the Cox Classic Presented by Chevrolet on the Nationwide Tour and Colm Moriarty at the FIRSTPLUS Wales Challenge on the European Challenge Tour.
