Woods, the world number one, won the 89th PGA Championship at Southern
Hills, Tulsa, with a final round of 69 for an eight under par total
of 272. He won by two strokes from American Woody Austin and three
from world number four Ernie Els, who closed with 67 and 66 respectively.
The gap between Woods and world number two Jim Furyk has extended
to 13.41 average points, while Woody Austin climbs 41 spots from
75th into 34th. Els remains in 4th.
Justin Rose's recent run of good form continued as he tied for
12th at the PGA, taking him up one spot to an all time career high
ranking of 15th, displacing Masters champion Zach Johnson who slips
to 16th.
Justin Bolli won the Northeast Pennsylvania Classic on the Nationwide
Tour and breaks into the World Top 200 with an 84 place jump to
World Number 193.
Walker Cup player Robert Dinwiddie won the Scottish Challenge presented
by Bank of Scotland Corporate on the European Challenge Tour and
moves up 294 positions to 362nd in the Official World Golf Ranking.
