Steve Stricker won The Barclays tournament at Westchester by two-strokes
over Korea's KJ Choi. This victory in the first of the PGA Tour
Playoffs for the Fedex Cup puts Stricker to the top of the Fedex
Cup table and takes him to world number 5, a leap of 9 positions
on the week and 58 positions higher than his end of 2006 World Ranking.
KJ Choi breaks into the world top ten for the first time, up three
positions at number eight, having begun the year in 29th spot.
Ross Fisher won the KLM Open with a birdie at the final hole for
a closing three under par 67 and a 12 under par 268 aggregate, to
take the title by a stroke from young Dutchman Joost Luiten. Fisher
jumps up 97 positions in the Official World Golf Ranking to 161.

on the Japan Golf Tour, Jimmy Walker at the National Mining Pete
Dye Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Artemio Murakami at the Iskandar
Johor Open on the Asian Tour, Felipe Aguilar at the Postbank Challenge
on the European Challenge Tour and Byron Smith at the Jane Rogers
Championship on the Canadian Tour.
