Trevor Immelman enters world top 20

South Africa’s Trevor Immelman achieved a home success in the Nedbank Golf Challenge at Sun City when he held off England’s Justin Rose by a single stroke. The two 27 year olds had gone into the final round sharing the lead and were still deadlocked on the 72nd tee. Immelman climbs three places to World Number 19 while Rose improves his World Ranking by a spot to 7th.

The 2002 English Amateur Champion Richard Finch claimed his first professional title with a three stroke victory in the Michael Hill New Zealand Open, co-sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and the European Tour. Finch climbs 240 positions in the Official World Golf Ranking to 283rd.

Brendan Jones from Australia picked up his third Japan Golf Tour win of the year with a stunning final round of 61 to beat 2007 Money Ranking winner Toru Taniguchi by a single stroke. Jones continues his advance up the World Ranking with a 21 position jump to 60th.

This week's other winners were Miguel Rodriguez at the Abierto del Litoral Personal in Argentina on the Challenge Tour and Bryan Saltus at the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open on the Asian Tour.
