Australia's Stephen Leaney, the 2003 US Open runner-up still seeking his first US PGA Tour triumph, was added to the field for the 89th PGA Championship on Monday after Jason Bohn withdrew.
Leaney, who has missed the cut in four of his prior five starts in the final major tournament of each season, had been the first alternate and took the spot when American Bohn pulled out with an unspecified injury.
Bohn had qualified for the PGA Championship on Sunday, taking an available spot from the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational because it was won by Tiger Woods, the defending PGA champion who had already qualified.
Also making the field Sunday was US veteran Steve Flesch, who won the US PGA Reno-Tahoe Classic.
Americans Ted Purdy, Brian Gay and Steve Marino are next on the alternate list for the PGA Championship followed by England's Brian Davis.
