Michelle Wie rumoured to be entering Q-School

With sponsor exemptions running out and no time to move up the money list, Michelle Wie will enter LPGA Qualifying school for the first time in her career, CBSSports.com reported Monday, citing a source close to the golfer.

The first stage of qualifying is scheduled for Sept. 16-19 at Mission Hills Country Club in Palm Springs, Calif.

If Wie does advance, she will play in the final round Dec. 3-7 in Daytona Beach, Fla. If not, she can try a second first-stage qualifier in Venice, Fla., on Sept. 30-Oct. 3.

Wie, 18, played in six events this season, the maximum number of sponsor exemptions allowed. Her best finish was 12th at the Canadian Open last month. Her total winnings are $62,763 this year.
