Sweden's Carl Pettersson, a North Carolina resident, carded a final round of 68 to finish at 21-under-par 259 for victory at the Wyndham Championship. Three late birdies helped Pettersson to beat Scott McCarron by two strokes for his third PGA Tour victory. The win takes Pettersson back into the World Top 50 with a 22 spot jump to World Number 49.
Another Swede, Peter Hanson, became the first home winner of the SAS Masters for ten years as he defied cold, wet and windy conditions at Arlandastad Golf in Stockholm. Hanson won by a stoke from compatriot Pelle Edberg and England's Nick Dougherty, who both finished on eight under par. Hanson climbs to World Number 64, an improvement of 25 positions.
This week's other winner were Brendon de Jonge at the Xerox Classic on the Nationwide Tour, Klas Eriksson at the Trophée du Golf Club de Genève and Richard Ramsay at the Vodafone Challenge, both events on the European Challenge Tour and Graham Delaet at the Desjardins Montreal Open on the Canadian Tour.
