Scott Verplank, who became the first American to hit a Ryder Cup hole in one at the K Club in Ireland in 2006, will receive the keys to a $150,000 yacht if he can repeat the feat at next week's Qatar Masters.
Organizers will hand over a 26-foot luxury cruiser to any player who aces the par-three 17th at the Doha Golf Club from January 24-27.
"We'd love to be able to hand over the yacht," Qatar Golf Association chairman Hassan Al Nuami said.
Verplank, who will be making his Qatar Masters debut, joins world number eight Adam Scott of Australia, Spain's Sergio Garcia, Swede Henrik Stenson and holder Retief Goosen of South Africa in the chase for the first prize at the $2.5 million tournament.
The event represents the second leg of the European Tour's so-called 'desert swing' which also includes this week's Abu Dhabi Championship and the Dubai Classic at the end of the month.
