Michelle Wie to play in Dubai Ladies Classic

American Michelle Wie is scheduled to make her debut in the Dubai Ladies Masters at the Emirates Golf Club next month.

The young Hawaiian, who has had a successful rookie season on the LPGA Tour and made her Solheim Cup debut when the U.S. beat Europe 16-12 in Illinois in August, will be one of the main attractions at the Dec. 9-12 Ladies European Tour event.

“Her presence will bring star value to the event,” golf in Dubai chief executive Mohamed Juma Buamaim said in a news release on Wednesday. “Michelle may be just 20 but… she has done wonders to raise the profile of women’s golf.”
