Brian Gay and Luke Donald climb the rankings

Brian Gay shot a 7-under-par 64 to win the Verizon Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links by 10 shots. He broke the 13-year-old scoring record, finishing at 20-under 264 on the way to his second PGA TOUR victory ahead of Briny Baird and Luke Donald. Gay, who won the 2008 Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico in February 2008, equalled the best score of the week having started the day with a 7 stroke lead. Gay jumps 46 positions in the Official World Golf Ranking to 53rd, a career high. Donald climbs 15 spots into 21st.

Scott Strange from Australia won the Volvo China Open after a final round 68 gave him a one stroke victory at Beijing CBD International Golf Club. Strange began his final round four strokes adrift of overnight leader Richard Finch but three birdies in the final five holes secured the win for Strange by a strole from Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano. Strange advances 34 positions in the ranking to 89th.

This week's other winners were Koumei Oda at the Token Homemate Cup on the Japan Golf Tour, Patrick Sheehan at the Athens Regional Foundation Classic on the Nationwide Tour and Gary Boyd at the Tusker Kenya Open on the Challenge Tour.
