Allenby wins again and climbs to no. 21
Robert Allenby won the Australian PGA Championship for a fourth time as he cruised to his second win in as many weeks by four shots from John Senden and Scott Strange. He added to his victories of 2000, 2001 and 2005 by shooting a second-straight five-under-par 66 to finish at 14 under at Hyatt Regency, Coolum. The win comes a week after Allenby ended a four-year title drought at the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa in a play-off and see's him climb to world number 21, an improvement of 5 positions.
Spaniard Pablo Martin won the Alfred Dunhill Championship in South Africa two years after becoming the first amateur to win on The European Tour, the 23 year old is now the only one to capture titles both as an amateur and a professional. The win moves Martin up 212 positions to world number 276.
