No. 5 - Curing the Pull

The pull is actually a close relation of the slice, at least as far as body alignment and swing path are concerned, which is why many slicers occasionally hit a pull.

Please note: all lessons refer to right-handed golfers. For more help, see your PGA pro

1. The pull is a shot that starts left of the target and continues straight left. It is caused by:
2. Body alignment left of target
3. An out-to-in swingpath
4. Grip too strong (hands turned too far right)
5. Clubface closed at impact

To cure the pull:

1. Alignment needs to be parallel to the target line. To help you visualise, think of standing on a railway line
2. Swing down the target line - not out-to-in
3. Use a neutral grip
4. Clubface square at impact
