Walt holds on to narrow lead

South Africa's Tjaart Van der Walt shot a three-under-par 69 on Saturday and has a one-shot lead at 13- under par after three rounds of the Buy.com Greater Cleveland Open. Donnie Hammond is alone in second place at 12-under after firing a six-under 66 in the third round.

Anthony Painter, Kent Jones, Andrew Morse, Craig Kanada and Brian Fogt are each two shots off the pace at 11-under par.

Van der Walt has either led or shared the lead after each of the first three rounds at the Quail Hollow Country Club.

Van der Walt shared the lead heading into the third round with Painter and the two were still tied at 12-under heading to the back nine.

Van der Walt birdied the 15th to take the lead, but gave the shot back with a bogey on 16 and regained the lead with a birdie on 18.

Painter, meanwhile, failed to make a birdie on the back nine. He bogeyed one hole, the par-four 17th, and is two shots behind.

Hammond had seven birdies and one bogey during his round on Saturday to grab sole possession of second place. He is looking for his second win of the year, having captured the Lakeland Classic in February.

"I have a lot of confidence going from Lakeland and I played pretty well since then," said Hammond. "I'll probably need to shoot at least four-under (Sunday) to have a good chance."
