Three tied at the top

Paul Claxton (72), Paul Gow (68) and John Riegger (71) share first place by a stroke at the $400,000 BUY.COM Hershey Open, an event where course management is at a premium.

That trio leads Don Reese (71), Patrick Burke (72) and Pat Bates (69) -- who are tied at 1 under -- by one stroke, and the six golfers are the only ones below par after two rounds. Todd Demsey (74), J.J. Henry (68), Jay Hobby (71), Shane Bertsch (73) and Jim McGovern (72) are tied for seventh at even par.

"We would all improve our games if we played out here every week," Gow said of the 7,154-yard course at the Country Club of Hershey. "It takes golf shots out here. Anybody who strikes the ball well will do well on this golf course. I played in Hartford last week (at the Canon Greater Hartford Open) on the PGA Tour and that's what I noticed out there. You have to drive the ball nicely and hit good irons.

"This golf course could set up for a PGA Tour event any day because it's just so demanding with tee shots and there are no give-up holes. This is probably the toughest we play all year."
